Rusted Shut - Early Years 12″ Bootleg

October 29th, 2008

Some enterprising folks have released a bootleg 12″ of songs from the Rusted Shut S/T CD on Fleece records that compiles their material from 1992-1995. Only 200 pressed, and already sold out from the source–but since I love you, I have copies for sale. They are $12 PPD in the US, $14 PPD in CAN/MEX, and $25 PPD in the rest of the world.

Domestic buyers can order using the button below, and everyone else can send payment via Pay Pal to dullknifeproject@gmail.comInternational buyers should get in touch for reduced shipping if ordering multiple records.

And you Houston be sure not to forget the two shows we’re putting on this Friday and next.

First, we celebrate the Rusted Shut record release with a party at Sound Exchange on Halloween night. The Homopolice kick things off at 8, and Rusted Shut follows. This show is FREE, and will be over by 10 so you can attend your other parties. Special Rusted Shut “Stop World Peace” spraypainted shirts will be available.

Los Llamarada

Then on Friday, November 7 we present Los Llamarada from Monterrey, Mexico with guests Future Blondes (Domokos of Rusted Shut) and Balaclavas at PJ’s Sports Bar, 614 W. Gray next to Cecil’s Pub. Starts at 9 and only $5. There will be a special edition of the Indian Jewelry + Future Blondes 12″ available ONLY at this show, weeks before it goes on sale.

All the details for both shows are available in the ‘Shows‘ section of the website.

Rusted Shut Pre-Order

September 22nd, 2008

It’s almost here. Their 3rd record in 22 years. “Hot Sex” was recorded just months before the infamous “Rehab” in 1998 with the same lineup. Unreleased until now because Rusted Shut is rasta slow.

Test presses have been approved and sound great, and the record is likely 2-3 weeks away at most. Your records will ship a day or two after I receive the records from the plant.

There will be 500 total records, with 30 total limited copies of the record for my mailorder customers. The first 10 pre-orders will include a spray paint stenciled t-shirt AND a live DVD-R. The next 20 pre-orders willinclude the live DVD-R, but no shirt. LIMIT 1 LIMITED EDITION COPY PER PERSON. If you order more than one copy, you will only get one limited version. NOTE: Limited edition copies all gone!
The live DVD-R is from a 1999 live set at the Pink Pussycat strip club. Don Walsh playing in a bathrobe, Ministry cover, tits, and Ralph from Culturcide and the Pain-Teens on sax. Wild.

USA: $12 PPD ($10.50 PPD for each additional 12″)
Canada/Mexico: $13 PPD ($10.50 PPD for each additional 12″)
International: $23 PPD ($11 PPD for each additional 12″)

Payments can be made via Pay Pal to dullknifeproject@gmail.com

Dusted’s “Still Single” reviews the RTFO Bandwagon 7″

May 6th, 2008

Dusted Magazine’s Doug Mosurock had this to say about the RTFO Bandwagon 7″ in his “Still Single” feature:

“Brent stole my “punx is hippiez” quote to market this single, but he’s a good dude and I am keeping my legal counsel at bay. But that’s kind of what’s going on here – folk punk of a hollerin’, earthy, discordantly jangled stripe that surfaced in the Mid-Atlantic and holes like Santa Cruz back in the mid-80s; Camper Van Beethoven, the Feral Family, Vomit Launch, Scrawl, and the Mekons all took a swing at this sound once upon a time and came up smiling, and my guess is that you will too. Shambolic, strummy, brightly tarnished sounds from Columbus, OH, featuring Rich from Psychedelic Horseshit on drums. 300 numbered copies; 50 with a blue vellum front cover. Pretty nice looking record from a new label that’s getting it right. “

In all fairness, we gave warning that we were stealing that line!  Be sure to check out the rest ofthe reviews, and dig into the archives.  “Still Single” is an incredibly valuable resource, and one our favorite stops on the internet.
